How it works

1. Official sources first

• The top of the board lists this area's radio stations, emergency service and council alert pages, and the emergency number.

2. Posting an update

• Sign in and press Post an update: what's happening, where, and where you heard it.
• Types: road closed, power, water, phone and internet out, evacuation point, I'm safe, offering help, need help, animals.

3. Keeping it current

• Posts leave the board by themselves after a couple of days. Press Still happening to keep yours up.
• Mark it Easing or Resolved as things change.

4. Official notices

• Notices pinned by the site's team show first, marked Official notice.
